摘要: This paper reports the design and experimental characterization of the inverse class-E power amplifier with finite DC-feed inductor. The design equations are given to determine the values of optimum circuit components. The finite DC-feed inductor is replaced by a short-circuit shunt stub. The output matching network is designed to transforms the standard impedance to the optimum impedance with inherent harmonic suppression characteristics. The parasitic inductance and output capacitance of the device are used as the series inductance and compensated by a short-circuit shunt stub respectively. The amplifier achieves a peak drain efficiency of 70.6% and PAE of 67.2% with a gain of 13.2 dB when delivering 40.7 dBm output power at 2.87 GHz. The inverse class-E PA can deliver the output power and drain efficiency of better than 38.2 dBm and 60% through the bandwidth of 250 MHz respectively.
